The remains of Nazi leader Adolf Hitler's deputy Rudolf Hess have been exhumed from a grave in Bavaria after it became a pilgrimage for thousands of right-wing extremists.
A church official in the southern town of Wunsiedel said on Thursday the tomb had been razed and its headstone removed after consulting with Hess's family over how to handle the grave site.
"The bones were removed and brought to the crematorium, and the ashes are to be scattered at sea," Peter Seisser said.
RESIDENTS got their first look at controversial plans for a new crematorium in Rugby.
The £3 million project is being developed jointly by Rugby Borough Council and Daventry District Council and is proposed for land off Ashlawn Road.
Rugby Borough Council unveiled its plans at St Andrew's Rugby Club where 500 people viewed and discussed the plans with council representatives.
Some residents think the crematorium should be located elsewhere.
Noel Davison said: "It's in the wrong area. This is perfect farmland which should be kept for farmers but is instead going to be built on. I'm not saying we don't need a crematorium I just don't think it's in the right place. The plans look nice and people who are not fussed either way could be swayed by them.

New regulations have been agreed to control the level of memorabilia left in Reading Crematorium.
The set of rules were drawn up following a consultation which showed widespread support for personal mementoes and personalised headstones.
However, users of the site agreed there should clearer rules about what is and is not allowed and stricter enforcement of them.
A review of the regulations was launched in January after the amount of personal memorabilia left in the All Hallows Road cemetery sparked complaints from the public.
POLICE are calling on communities to step up their vigilance to combat thieves who strip churches of lead.
Since January, about 50 churches in Lincolnshire have been targeted in 60 separate attacks. And with more than 600 churches in the county to protect, Lincolnshire Police says it is "unrealistic" for its officers to thoroughly police them without help from residents.
The most vulnerable sites are being identified so that more resources can be allocated.
But to regularly patrol all the churches is impossible without other priorities suffering.

18/7/2011 The country’s funeral traditions have changed dramatically. More and more Koreans are beginning to prefer cremation over the traditional burial. Two decades ago, 17.8 percent of those deceased were cremated. Today, those cremated has reached more than 65 percent. A survey by the Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs showed that 79.3 percent of respondents wished to be cremated after death. They also desired their remains be scattered in lakes or on mountains instead of being kept in a vault somewhere.
